ABOUT KV

Kendriya Vidyalaya Karnal was established in 1986 in civil sector under the patronage of Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan, New Delhi an autonomous body under the Ministry of HRD.

Like all Kendriya Vidyalayas, KV, Karnal too adheres to four fold Principles:

* To cater to the education needs of the children of transferable Central Government employees, including Defence and Paramilitary personnel, by, providing common programme of education in co ordination with Kendriva Vidyalayas all over India and abroad.
* To Preserve Excellence.
* To initiate and promote experiments and innovation in education in collaboration with other bodies like CBSE and NCERT etc. To Develop the spirit of National Integration.
 

The Vidyalaya is located on the mall road at a distance of 01 km from railway station and half km from general bus stand of Karnal. The sprawling trees, chirping birds and the beautiful greenery enhances a lovely atmosphere where the Principal and teachers have a cordial relationship with all the students of the Vidyalaya.

The genesis of the K.V.:

1.                  Date of opening – December, 1986

2.                  No. of Classes/Sections initially started – Class I To X with 1 section each.

 Important milestones of growth:

      ·        Vidyalaya is running in one shift having enrollment 487 in one stream i.e. commerce

·        Vidyalaya is running in temporary building.

·        In the year 2008-09 the result of class XII is 88.8%

·        In the year 2008-09 the result of class X is 98% 

Gradual year wise expansion in classes and sections leading to present status :

The school was started in Dec, 1986, with initial sanction of one section form class I to X.

Details of previous and new campus :

The Vidyalaya is running in temporary building since 1986 till date. Land has been allotted and boundary wall is being made. Vidyalaya's new building is under construction and the work is going on at fast pace. The process of construction is in full swing. The school is eagerly waiting for its completion in near future.

In the geographical map Karnal takes the peaceful position between the land of two battle field i.e. Kurushetra of Mahabharat and Panipat the field of freedom struggle. This is believed to be the land of Karan the great warrior in the epic Mahabharata.
 

Our Approach

 An educational institute aims to bring all round development of a child and bring forth the hidden talents and potentialities out of him. Today in the era of space and internet we aspire to be on top of the world. The Kendriya Vidyalaya kamal inspires, encourages and express its students to innovations, technology aided education, manifold indoor and outdoor activities to shape the students into ideal citizens.

Objectives
  • Our motto is physical, Intellectual, creative and emotional growth of every child. For this the school imparts, together with academics, various
    co-curricular activities through House system, games and sports events, yoga, cubs-bulbul and scouts and guides. Value education is imparted to help the students grow into good human beings and useful citizens.
  • To unravel and nurture the latent talents, the students are inspired to participate in music, art and painting, dramatics, debates and quizes etc.

  • Our emphasis being on 'learning by doing', Science & Social Science exhibitions are organized annually, in which the students come up with innovative and creative exhibits.

  • To keep the students well abreast of expanding knowledge and scientific development they are encouraged to be the members of projects like TIE - Tribune in Education.

  • Day-to-day lessons are enriched, made more effective and interesting by using audio‑visual aids like over-head projector and computers.

  • Teaching at primary level is emphasized through activity oriented approach and group learning.
    Individual attention is given to slow learners and gifted children.

  • To promote joyful learning without stress, overall development and confidence among children, comprehensive-continuous evaluation and grading system is adopted. There are no formal unit-tests and examination in Classes I and II.
